painting the ends of your brushes

it seems like a lot of your brushes are painted on the ends, different colors or something of the such. whats all that about?

ha yeah they are pretty. I wasn't sure if they were used to differentiate in any way, like ones with pink ends are blending brushes and geen ends are fine line brushes or something like that. hm, curious curious.

MAC MA's (who are the only people I know of who do this) paint the tips of their brushes so they know who the brush belongs to.

i take my brushes to work(i work at ulta) and this way it's known that i own them. i have brushes from so many different lines it also gives the brushes a more uniform look.

I am a copycat.

I asked SonRisa about how she did her brushes.

I work with a makeup artist about once a month when she gets heavy jobs that involve groups of people. I don't want my brushes getting mixed in with her's or the other MA's and before I would just put colored tape on them.

I think in general it's a nice idea to add some dazzle to your brushes.

You just tape them off so you can get the clean line. I used painters tape because I knew it would not ruin my brush handles. You just paint the ends and let them dry. I did 2 coats.

Super cute!!! I think I might do it too MWAAHAHAHA. It's a very good way of making them all look uniform, like someone said!

Did you use different colours for face/eyes/lips or something?

No, I should have! I just did them in 3 random colors.
I wish I would have stayed with just one color but I wanted to see what color would look best so that is why I used 3 different ones. I didn't want any oddball brush with just one color on it.
I started out by doing my cheaper brushes first so I could get a feel for it and when I messed up on one I tried to remove the polish with Nail polish remover! Oh bad idea!! I started to remove the paint on the brush handle! I ruined the handle. Good thing it was a cheap brush.
