PayPal!

ARGHHHH!

They decided that 'due to suspicious activity' they've frozen my account! I had to complete a bunch of steps to unfreeze, which I did, and they kept it locked. I finally called them today, and said WTF?!?

They said : your account is linked to another account in bad standing?!? So until this other account is cleared, we keep your cash. I have over $300 in there

Since they're being such assholes, and I'm NOT linked to any other account, I'm trying to figure out a way to outsmart them. Since I've basically lost that money, I thought if I send an email to everyone who's sent me money in the past month, and tell them to file a claim saying they never recieved their items, they'll get their money back, instead of Paypal keeping it forever, right? Any thoughts? Yes, I feel kind bad 'cause it's dishonest, but I can't stomach the thought of having lost so much of my precious MAC collection for nothing! (I sold off my beloved LEs to pay down some debt, which I can't do now!).

TIA for your advice! Please PM me if you've had a similar experience, and if you've had any success.

oh. wow.
PP is notorious for being difficult. I would call again and ask them what they're referencing. :/

I tried that...they said they cannot discount details of someone else's account with me?!? What the hell????

I'm going to try to find some other online payment company...any suggestions?

pp is the most popular, honestly.

I'd gather all the information relevant to the situation I could, ask for it in writing, then call and ask them what they're referencing and why the account is frozen, THEN I would write a letter to as many of the higher ups in paypal as I could find, and see what happens.

So.... help me out here, cause i don't understand this realy... i'm like wtf 2 .

If you don't know what they are talking about and they can not tell you shit, you have a case legaly. A bank or what ever money company cant just froze your money and not tell you why. They would have to be very specific.

*What they realy should be doing is cathing the motha fkr's scammers croozing around!

And charging the stolen whatever on they creditcard! that's what they should be doing!*

It sounds to me like someone who paid you has done something fradulent and they are freezing your account since you received money from them.

I could be totally wrong though.

That's what I'm wondering. Since they tell me they can't discuss another's person's account with me, I'm pretty much screwed. I mean, how ridiculous is this?!? And since Paypal isn't a bank, they are not obligated to do anything, and have every right to hold my money, as per the really really fine print. So no, I don't even have a case (I called my lawyer, and he said, be happy it's only $300!). Wow....

I had this happen to me last thanksgiving after selling a MAC cosmetic bag brand new, it was 3 months later some guy called fraud after his g/f dumped him ,she was using his paypal account. They took $50 from me and $100'S from other sellers, It was my 1st time ever selling anything. From now on I switch my paypal funds to my bank account asap.

You should make sure its actually an email from paypal, I've gotten one of those messages before and it turned out not to be them. thers spoof address you can send it to, its where I sent one last week. and it turned into a HUGE thing.

My boyfriend and I were looking into buying a car (A turbo'd honda S2000) and we had the winning bid and everything, and I got an invoice for it 5 hours before the auction ended. Ebay doesnt do that, and the invoice told me to use wesern union when on ebay motors it clearly states to NOT use them in case of fraud. I sent the email to the spoof address and they were on his ass in a second. I'm so glad I checked it out before sending an assload of cash.

Send it to this address and see what comes back, you know just in case, , they are very quick: [email protected]

Something similar happened to me. A friend of mine needed some quick paypal, and I sent it to her, when she repaid me, it was from a checking account that she was bouncing checks from (nice friend eh?). I got a similar e-mail saying my account was being fradulently used. Got me all shook up thinking what did I do? Only to find it was my lovely friend that got me in this situation. Moral of the story, don't loan friends $$... LOL
Anyhow... Look at all of the transactions and see if something was reversed? Or if anything else is fishy with the recent transactions.
Good Luck!

Update

Well, I called Paypal again, and they said that until this 'other account in bad standing' is cleared, my funds will remain frozen. And, they won't tell me who or what account, so I'm out $302. I've emailed those who have paid me, asking them to file complaints and try to get refunds. If I can't have my money, I'd rather ANYONE but paypal get it! Crooks!!!!
