I'm not sure. I know that I can convert it to a text file. Having it as a text file is not good because this PDF file is an employment application.

The only way you can eletronically fill out a PDF form is if it was created with interactive form fields. Do you know if this is the case?

If it is just a scanned PDF from a hard copy, you will not be able to fill out the form electronically.

If the PDF is not automatically showing you the fields, it probably does not have them.

A lot depends on how the PDF was created - without seeing the actual document, it is difficult to say.

Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Like MzzRach said, if it isn't automatically showing you the fields then you cannot. Just click on a line/space you are supposed to fill out to see if you can type.

I think you're out of luck then. The problem is that unless it's formatted to have input fields, Adobe sees it as a picture, not a text file. So you can't type in it. Is it a requirement to have the info typed into the form? Probably your best option would be to print it out and fill it in with pen. Then you can either take it in in person or scan it and send it in electronically.

yes its a requirement I have to type it out. I can print it out and fill it out by hand but I don't have a scanner to scan it. I can't take it in person because they want me to e-mail it and this store hasn't open yet.

Print it, fill it out, then take it to somewhere like Kinko's and get them to scan it and send it to your email address. Or, if you know someone who has access to a scanner, ask them to scan it for you.

Or: Open the PDF with Adobe Photoshop and fill it out. Then save it (as a pdf) & email it.

Or: Try one of these: pdf form filler - Google Search

To save a PDF with changes you need Adobe Acrobat ($$$$). Adobe Reader will let you fill it in if it's an interactive form, but you won't be able to save it. You'd still have to print it and scan it back in.

I'm not too sure if the free PDF writers out there let you fill in PDF forms and save the changes, it might be worth googling it and checking it out.

That said - if you try clicking on a field to fill it in and it won't let you then you'd definitely need Acrobat, as you'd have to use the editing tools to put a field in there. Again, I'm not sure if the free PDF writers out there have this functionality.

theres two ways you could go: search the web for some free PDF software that can do this stuff, or print it out, fill it in and get it scanned at a Kinko's or similar. It really depends on how long you want to spend thinking about it
