Personal Book

What does it mean when a MAC MUA says that they'll put you in their personal book?

I just came home for Nordstrom after buying a few piggies and lipglasses. The MUA complemented me on my eye M/U, helped me with my purchase, and while she was completing my transaction, she told me "I'll put you in my personal book".

Huh?

I worked at Nordstrom a few yrs. ago (actually, more than a few..lol..about six yrs. now...but who's counting)...Anyway, Nordies considers their customers to be SO special, that they have what they call "Personal Books". Those usually are reserved to either repeat customers, or customers whom buy a lot of goods at one time (although, I think Nordies employees are supposed to put every customer in their books..I cannot remember now). P.B.'s are especially beneficial to the m/u counter gals, because 90% of their business is usually due to repeat buyers. When I worked at Nordies, it was standard to ask a customer for their name, address, and phone number (most people didn't have issue w/ this, as they knew they'd get prefferential treatment). Then, at the end of the day, week, or whatever..when we had some 'free time', we'd send thank-you notes to our customers. They'd also get special coupons, flyers, and announcements delievered to them. So, consider it a compliment that she wants to put you in her P.B.....You're a 'good' custie!!!!

Yvette is correct....Nordies employees are supposed to put customers into their computer system...this sytem tracks your purchases, provides the SA with your contact information for sales, promos, events, etc. It is a job requirement at Nordies...the best thing about it is that they can contact you if, for instance, you are looking for a particular out-of-stock or hard to find product and they make a note of it in PB...when they find it, they will contact you.

O.k So now i understand i think what the heack they are always writing when i buy at my counter. I've noticed they write down an x-mark everytime a MA sold u something. So that way they can count how many custumers they have helped per MA. Hmmmm the sad thing is that you don't get a single thank u or whatever here in holland.

Well ok, i guess i get something.... cause i always get kisses from my fav MA and he also calls me 'kitten' or 'cat' *poes in dutch*

. But let me tell ya 'cat in dutch' has a whole other meaning over here
