I was experimenting with the beauty powders today, to create a softer look on the face, and I'm happy with the results. Camera washed my skin out though, so here's the rundown sans photos

FACE
Shiseido Dual Balancing Foundation in I20
MAC Tenderdusk beauty powder
MAC Soft Flame beauty powder - using the MAC 187 brush (or 129 brush)

EYES
Dior Diorshow mascara

LIPS
MAC Ruby Woo l/s
MAC Bare Fetish l/g

STEPS
-apply about 1 fingertip's worth of foundation over my entire face with the MAC 190 brush for a light effect. Buff in gently circular motions with the 187 brush to even texture.
-using the MAC 187 brush, apply the lightest coating of Tenderdusk to the cheek area, tip of nose, chin and forehead, using the pink to counteract the flatness of the foundation for a healthy look. Buff the face gently with the brush to distribute and smooth any remaining powder.
-using the MAC 187 brush, make the fish face and apply Soft Flame downwards from the temples to beneath the cheekbones, buffing lightly in a circular motion. Continue to buff in a circular motion over the cheek area, blending until lines are invisible. THE EFFECT should be to lend a very gentle, almost undetectable undertone of warmth and colour to the cheeks so that they look luminous but not "made-up"
-curl lashes and apply DiorShow mascara liberally. The aim is long rather than thick lashes, so concentrate on the tips.
-using a lip brush, apply Ruby Woo to the lips. The colour should not be completely opaque. Because my lips are pouty, I draw slightly inside my lower lip line.
-apply Bare Fetish overtop of Ruby Woo. Blot gently with a tissue to allow more of the colour beneath to come forward. The effect will be a red not unlike the colour of Soft Flame in the jar.
