Pigment for hair use.

Has anyone used Pigment in their hair to make it appear glittery? I know that one of its many purposes is for hair use, but I wanted some feedback from anyone who has ever tried it. What are the best colors to use if you just want something glittery? How much pigment did you use?

hmm.. i dont know if pigment would be best for that job b/c it dosen't have any adhesive to help stick to your hair.. maybe mix it with hair spray (the kind in a non-aerosol can). I usually buy the sparkly hairspray when i need glittery hair

I've used pigments and glitters in my hair when putting it in hair "glue" mostly taken wax into a sample pot and mixing it in so it stuck to my hair instead of falling off... also I have used it in texture sprays that you put into your hands first and then in your hair... if I think of any other things I've used it in I'll post it up.

Yup, I've mixed it with hair wax, gel and mousse.
I've even just applied the pigment with my fingers and then sprayed hairspray over it.

I've found that gel seems to work the best.

One of the things I do that hasn't been mentioned is use it with Frederic Fekkai smooth hair cream. I tried it with glossing cream but didn't work that well but smooth hair worked very well and colors were very vibrant. Or I just dust some on my hair and spray some wavy hair spray or lately, the newsummer beach hair spray.

I tried using pigments w/ mixing medium and a mascara tester brush. didn't work so well for me... I wanted more chunks then overall color so that's why I didn't use Gel or Mousse. Also, once it dried it just flaked off.

I used clear mascara mixed with pigments or glitters to use in my hair. Seems to work pretty well and stay since the mascara is made for hair.

I did this for a dance show I was in. I sprinkled the pigment over my hair, and then sprayed it with hairspray. It stuck pretty well.

I just mixed some e/s with hair gel (since the only pigment I have is Frost, and white chunks on black hair...). looks nice besides the fact that Vellum is a little chalky/whitish depending on the lighting... so anyone ever used Frozen White Pigment for hair? Since I have black hair i like those iridescent glowy colors like Vellum. Do you think Violet/Old Gold/Teal would look good? How about the glitters?

I put it on someone else's hair. I used bright fuschia and some hair gel and I painted it onto her hair with a hairdye brush. Once it dried I combed it gently to get rid of excess color and then applied it again to fix any uneven spots. It made her hair have a really cute pink stain look to it....however it didn't wash out for a few days haha. But she was a very very light light blonde so thats why.

When I got my makeup done for grad/prom (yeeeaars ago...) I got it done at Makeup Forever and I had already gotten my hair done from the salon. The makeup artist put and iredesent purple glitter in my hair to match my dress, it was really pretty, and I think she sprayed airisole hairspray all over my hair, and then dippped a big makeup brush in the glitter and then tapped the brush over my head to have the glitter fall off evenly, it stuck pretty well, but you have to make sure the hair spray is stil a bit wet/tacky when you put the glitter on.

The easiest thing to do if it's glitter your looking for, is to just buy the glitter hair spray in a can. It's super easy to find around Halloween and you cen get it year round at some salons and beauty supply stores and costume stores etc.

I know it was used in the Rebelrock campaign. Personally, I haven't tried it, but I know for Rebelrock, some of the MA's at my local MAC were putting blue streaks in their hair. Since their hair was black and thick, it used up a good portion of their pigment.
