hey all!

so i got pink nouveou lipstick as my B2M. The MA suggested it because i don't have any bright pink lipsticks and the colour is really nice.
How can i make it work with my nc43 skin? I think i should wear it when i have light colour eyeshadows on so that i don't look so bright! Or any lipglosses to sheer it down a bit?

what do you lovies reckon?
thanks!

I definitely would try your suggestion: lighter colour shadows and bright lips so its not so overwhelming. That way itll ease you into it and you can start playing with it more the next time you want to wear it, whether its darkening the crease or whatnot. I would start with lighter neutral colours, not something bright like freshwater or whatever.

Good luck and show us an FOTD when you use it!

Hey...I got a little overexcited and purchased Vivacious, which, as you may know is a gorgeous, but verrrry bright pink. In order to tone it down so I felt more comfortable wearing it, I purchased Spring Bean lustreglass to go over the top. The green in the color neutralizes the brightness just enough so I can wear it, so you might try that. For me, Spring Bean works so well...it tones it down without compromising the color of Vivacious. You might also try a nice beige over the top to tone it down, as well. As for shadows, I agree with sticking with something light and/or neutral.

to be honest it IS a very bright colour... so i would wear natural coloured eyeshadows such as light brown, cream, beige etc... with eyeliner and mascara [ofcourse] just to keep the focus on the lips and not look too clownish

Hmm, I think your original idea of lighter eyeshadows would be great! Maybe just a light wash on the lid with some highlighter on the brow with a smidgen of liquid liner would look great!

Or, to make the color less vibrant, you could try 'patting' the color on your lips. I do that with some of my dark berry and reds on occasion.

you could also use a lip brush to apply the color that way you can control the color application.

I definately agree on using lighter or more neutral colors for your eyes, so the main focus is your lips.

I do bright pink lips quite often and whenever I want to tone the color down I pat the lipstick on instead of spreading it over my lips, if that makes any sense. It'll go on in a sheer way, and adding any gloss over top will also help.
