Pinup Look For Nc43?

I'm pretty new to this site and makeup. I usually only wear winged eyeliner, Cash Flow, and foundation, but I wanted to take it up a notch and put in some eyeshadow.

This is the look I'm trying to get:
YouTube - Old Hollywood / Pinup: Beauty through the Ages

I love the cut crease and white eyeshadow, but the white doesn't look good on me and the brown just blends in with my skin! I went to the MAC counter at the mall today and an assistant suggested the Soft Ochre paint pot and Soft Brown eyeshadow. I went home and tried it but it does NOT look good. I really, really want to achieve this look with the right products. It looks amazing in the video and I want to incorporate it into my daily routine!

Any suggestions on colors for the eyes?

Did you want to go as light as she does on the eyes? If yes, then try something like Blanc Type. It's a beige-y colour, so it won't be as stark as a pure white. Gesso will likely look quite ashy on you (as you probably found out). For your brown try Cork or Wedge. If you wanted to go a bit darker, Espresso might be a good crease colour.

I might even mix Blanc Type with Cork so it's a bit darker and put Espresso in my crease... (just a thought).

I think the winged liner makes this look!

Blanc type is a little lighter than I want, so I will probably try it out and mix it with Cork to get a color a couple shades lighter than NC43. Thanks!

...I was thinking... how about Bamboo? (I don't own this so I can't say for sure..but it seems to be in the colour family.)
