Okay, so I ordered some Nars products last night! I'm getting:
The Yachiyo Brush
The Cordura Eyeshadow Duo and
The Black Eye Set (Includes Eye Makeup Remover, Black Moon Pencil Eyeliner, Black Orchid Mascara, and Pandora Eyeshadow Duo)

Tell me these were good choices and that I will love them! I always get excited over NARS products but I feel like they always let me down. I want to love them but I have trouble I guess. So far I've had Orgasm (which I disliked and gave away), Night Breed Eyeshadow, Night Clubbing Eyeshadow, Night Flight Eyeshadow, Night Porter Eyeshadow, and Rated R Eyeshadow Duo. Their products don't seem to be as pigmented as MAC in general, but I love branching out and trying different brands. =P

i have night porter and love it! In comparison to something like beauty marked, its far superior. It's alot softer in texture. You also don't need a coloured base for the green to stand out. It's a really ncie shadow.

I only have Night Porter, and I love it, it's my darkest green.

I bought Exhibit A blush and the Cordura duo on Friday. I don't know if I'm keeping the duo (I'm NW43 with yellow undertones.) I haven't used it yet, but i have this feeling that it will look like MAC's Smut on me and not like that fair-skinned model in the promo ad. Not that I expect it tom I just want it to clearly be brown not black (like Smut, Magnetic Fields etc.) hmmm...

Tell me about it! I tried Galapogas (sp?) on at work and it ruined my whole look. It's just so pretty in the pan, but I feel like I have to break out
Too Faced First Base
WBMM
or Fix+
to have any of their shadows look good. Ofcourse, I had none of these on hand, so my eyes looked like charred shit.

i also have galapagos (?). The amber flecks don't show up great it in. You need a coloured base. I have the Amber metal-x that i use, so uppity (gold fluidline). Both those work great with it. I find it a bit weird to belnd though.

I've come to conclusion that NARS is just too overpriced for the quality...stay excited about the brush though!!! The brushes are gorgeous and great quality (but again...kinda overpriced lol)

I am a NARS addict but I too get dissapointed (sp) more often than pleased. I think the problem may be I don't know how to apply some of the e/s. The night flight series just looks black, and I don't know how to pull off black e/s. I've just learned how to do black eyeliner. I need to go to makeup artist school in a bad way. I have been pleasantly surprised by some lip products however and I usually don't tend toward lip addictions.

I LOVE the Cordura duo...it's so versatile, and I find the colors to be easily blendable. Excellent choices, I hope you enjoy!

I use cordora or two faced first base or savage under Galapagos and it looks just like it does in the pan. Roll it on, pat it on, stiple it on but don;t blend like you're wiping windows (MAC people love to blend) Galapagos, like Night Snow, warrants a seperate technique. A contrasting NARS creme eye shadow (copper gold, bronze or taupe) or Two Faced First Base, will bring out Galapagos full potential.

Thanks you guys! I think if I am not totally in love with these products they may be my last NARS purchases. I'll let you know when I get my package!!

Cordura is beautiful and I think the colors would look fantastic in one of your smoky eye looks.

I agree with Kuuipo...you can overblend NARS eyeshadows, but once you get the technique down (patting the shadow on and lightly blending)...you can really see the difference.
