I guess more specifically, would you all post your APPLICATION TECHNIQUE on this thread? I always feel that I am not applying my e/s and blush correctly.

Especially for multi-layer and multi-color e/s applications.

Please be specific in description or post pictures if you can. For example, what direction do you apply the shadow? how many stroke is sufficient? how to make sure both eyes have even coloration? Ho "heavy" is your hand to achieve the best texture?

Any input is appreciated!!!

OH, could someone please help explain to me what is "windshield technigue"? I think it was referred to in an e/s application post.

that's taking a brush with dark shadows (or whatever crease color you want) and going back and forth along your crease (brush hair perpendicular to skin surface) like the the wiper cleans windshield of your car. hth

try searching for makeup tutorials on youtube. it helps when you see people doing it

Thanks! is there any there specific way of doing contouring e/s on my deep-set (almost hiding) eye lid? Why do so many put the darkest shade of e/s on the outer corner? When I use darkest shade on the outer corners my eyes seem to "sag" on the outer edges....

hmmm. from the picture, it looks like you have hooded lids, not really deepset eyes.

i have similar shaped lids, and the easiest thing to do is probably using a medium matte shadow, apply over the entire lid (start from lashline, and have 0.1 - 0.2 inches visible when you open your eyes) then take a darker matte shadow in the same color family and apply to the outter corner. then use the medium shadow to line the outter half of your bottom lash line. apply brow highlighter and mascara, then you are done. using too much dark colors (especially on the bottom lid) make hooded lids look older and tired, so do not use eyeliners on the lower lashline

look at snowkei's tutorials, most of them will work nicely for hooded lids.
and i drew on your picture where the shadow should go (obviously it should be blended on the edges, but i'm working with MS paint). hope you do not mind

I used to do this when I applied eye shadow to my outer corners/crease until I got the hang of it. Mine always used to "sag" also:

Find something small with a flat edge ( honestly I used a sqaure of toilet paper

) and hold it on your face so that one edge makes a line from the outer corner of your eye to the end of your eyebrow. It should look like a diagonal line. Hold this in place while you put on your outer eyeshadow colors. When you are done take it off and blend so you don't have a crazy harsh line (otherwise it might look too "cat eye-ish") This will keep your shadow from travelling downwards and making your eyes look saggy. After a while you will get the hang of it and you may not need it anymore. Hope this helps!
