Please talk me out of this Mac item

Do you know the feeling after leaving a Mac counter that "I should have gotten that." That is the feeling I have been having about the peacock soft sparkle pencil. I was so on the fence about it as I wasn't sure it was right for me (NW15). I have heard so many good reviews on it, so I am torn. The nearest counter is over an hour away. So, please girls tell me that I do not need this one.

In my experience, anything with glitter (although pretty!) isn't overly useful because of the sparkle factor. I love them when I do get to use them - but that just isn't often enough to justify the expenditure a lot of the time. Also, peacock is pretty damn bright - think about how much use you'd really get out of it? Plus, I've heard bad things about the glitter fallout. Is the frustration worth it?

Sadly, I'm no help there! I'm fairly over glitter in makeup, but the colour of this pencil sounded far too good to pass up...I'm sorry! But perhaps if you wait a while, others may decide they don't like theirs and you might be able to get one in a swap or something?

i absolutely cannot stand glitter filled stuff!! glitter = bad news for me! i like the colour and the pencil, just without the glitter in it.

i got over glitter when i was about 17, so these pencils are a big NO NO for me

im not a big fan of glitter either, it annoys me so much when it gets all over your cheeks and around the outer corners of the eyes. saying that, the colour sounds lovely so i dont know

I bet you can find an eyepencil that color, but with no glitter. Perhaps even cheaper than MAC's price. Glitter=AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

exactly, i have a gorgeous turquoise kohl without glitter, and i don't really use it that often so don't need any of the sweetie cake ones...

Hey yeah, there is a pencil similar, I think Hard Candy has one, it has a brush on one end and the pencil on the other! Drat, nearly forgot about that.

If you don't want to get it with the glitter, just wait for the new Fluidline coming out this summer, its called Delphic.. and its a gorgeous turquoise! Things with glitter aren't so useful!

I love it, tiny mica glitter and all.

Go get yourself one before you regret it woman! Softsparkle pencils are a great way to enjoy subtle "glitter". I haven't experienced any fall out, but I always wear them over other eyeliners (fluidlines mainly) for a little shimmer at work.

i agree with waiting for the new liquidlasts and fluidlines. plus, sweaty summers= glitter evvvvvvvvvverywhere.

I'm for getting Peacocked, tho. In mine the sparkles weren't too obvious or falling everywhere, so I prefer it to Shade f/l when I want colour but a thinner line (cuz I haven't been able to make thin f/l lines yet =T). I love it as a slight punch of colour instead of brown, which I usually use. Of all the softsparkles, I'm liking this one the most, Iris Accents 2nd esp. when it's over Violet Underground.

I just remembered: perhaps it would be best to wait for these glorious liquidliners that are coming out? They don't have glitter, and judging by the swatches devin kindly posted, they look like they'll be fantastic! What do you think?

Surprisingly Violet Underground eye kohl doesn't smudge on me, so I may venture into getting another one.

As for the liquidliners, I didn't know about Devin's post till now, and *thud* <-- me fainting. OMG, those colours are hot!

I paused and had to wipe up some drool myself. They look like waaaaaaay too much fun (!!), but I'll end up looking like a kid who took a crayola to her eyes with those - not fun! I'll get at least one to play with, and they're permanent, soo....but, dangit, I was hoping not to like them, I'm trying to save for Sundressing and Lure!!! Dang nabbit...

But we're getting OT.... I'd say get Peacocked! You don't have to use so much as Reflecto and Iris Accents, which could be more pigmented in my opinion, so you shouldn't end up w/ too much glitter around.
