Plushglasses & chapping?

Hey, I just have a quick question for you guys. Has anybody noticed increased chapping in their lips after using the new plushglasses? My lips have gotten dry and almost scab-like (you can't see it but i can feel it) around the edges over the past few days. Usually I only get minor chapping in the winter, and it's not that they're sunburned because i've been working all day, every day this past weekend. The only change in my daily routine I can think of is that I now use the plushglasses every day instead of regular lipgloss. Has anybody else had problems like this?

I love the plushglasses, and I actually kind of like the tingly feeling and how they make my lips look, but I'm afraid I might not be able to use them anymore. :/

I haven't personally had that experience with using them but it does sound like a type of temporary allergic reaction. You may want to decrease using them instead of everyday maybe only once a day or every other day,.... and see if it is still happening,.. in general lip plumping products get their reaction from irritating the lips to make them swell. I would imagine that if you irritate them too much they may develop a reaction like you describe,.. try cutting down first and see if that helps,.. You might shoot MAC an e-mail/live chat as well.

i was actually wondering the same thing.

i used my plushglasses for a few days straight after i bought them and my lips have been so chapped and dry. i bought some plain chapstick to see if that would help but it hasn't really.

it's weird because i use other lip plumpers and have never had this type of reaction.

I've been using Oversexed for the past few days (I LOVE this color!..the names not bad either..heh) and noticed more of a cooling sensation, LipVenom always tingled and felt hott, But hasnt irritated my lips at all...

Agreed with previous, trying using once or fewer times a day. I also put chapstick/lip moisturizer on before bed. Helps a bit.

I was thinking the same thing this morning when I woke up.

I am gonna stop using it.

I think this is not meant to be an everyday type item. Because it has irritants in it to help plump the skin, constant use of it could cause problems such as mentioned above. No pun intended, but it probably depends on how thin skinned you are (or your lips are) as to whether or not you have irritation problems with it.

I would keep it as a special occasion type thing, if it does. It is probably not an allergic reaction, just a reaction from using it too frequently.

The Lipgelees chapped me out a bit and I stopped using them because of it. I don't need any more plumping in my lips, so I passed on these, but my fave MA said they were a lot like the gelees...even more reason for me to steer clear!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've been using my plushglasses since they came out and have not noticed any more chapping than anything else I've ever used, MAC or not, but then again I use lip conditioner every night before I go to bed to keep them in constant comfort (and I have pretty dry lips). No woes here.

I've been using my plushglass ever since it came out but my lips haven't been chapping, but it's the other way around when I use lipglasses (it sucks that plushglasses are so much more expensive cus these are all i can use without my lips getting chapped)

Clear LipGlass makes my lips burn like that, I am addicted to chapstick though so I wear it under EVERYTHING. Try using chapstick first then the plushglass hopefully it wont losse its effect.

The one thing I dont do is wear chapstick to bed because my lips peel like crazy in the morning if I do.
I think you just have to find out what works for you.

I had the same problem with plushglass making my lips chapped and dry.... And I only used it for one day. I waited till my lips cleared up and tried it again, but alas... it chapped them again. Seems I jsut can't wear it.

Have any of you noticed a difference since you stopped using them? I used my Cushy White on Sunday, and my lips have been irritated since. I constantly wear some sort of chapstick, so my lips aren't normally dry. Why isn't it going away??

i love them too but have the exact same issues that you do. and i use lip conditioner at night. so weird. and ive used other plumpers and they didnt do this. i do like the tingly sensation...so its sad..lol. im thinking to put lipstick or tlc under it to see if that helps..narrow down the issue. i also did a chat with mac and she said she didnt hear of this issue. i hope if someone has this issue they can report back..lol.

UGH! Let me tell you what happened to my lips...

I had been using "Full For You" for about 2 weeks, 1 or 2x a day. Love the color. After about two weeks they felt funny so I looked in the mirror closely....and whoa!!!! There were a ton of really strange bumps UNDER the surface of my lips, mainly on the side corners and the top and bottom edges! I went home that weekend and showed them to my mom, who said, "EWWWW, they look like clogged pores!"

Needless to say I stopped using the plushglass that day and went back to my chapstick and lipglass routine. It cleared up after about 3 or 4 days.

I mentioned it to a MAC Chat girl (Jennifer) earlier this week, she said I was the first person she had heard of w/that reaction.
