Does anyone know what's happening? All the information I've got is that there was an "incident" at the BioSci building, to quote the info on the UBC website. I know there are cops and a SWAT team and a helicopter on campus or around the building. When I got back to res we called campus security to find out what was going on and they told us to stay in whatever building we were in until further notice. Then there was an update on the website saying that campus wide activity could return to normal, but classes in BioSci were cancelled and the building was still on lockdown. I don't really want to leave res until I know what happened. I'm really angry, there is a program where you give the university your cell number and they are supposed to text you in the event of an emergency like this, and they have my number but I didn't get a text! I walked about half a block down from that building an hour after it had been locked down and I didn't find out about the situation until I got back to res. The reason I didn't see anything was I was actually taking a back way between some buildings. I'm freaked out. There's been rumours that someone had a gun, or that there was a bomb, but there's no official information and I just want to know what's happening!
