Stumbled on this forum yesterday and joined up. I am what most would consider the atypical cosmetology student. Former Marine officer, male and 54. Informing my family that I was going to go back to school and become a 'beautician' was a real shocker to them especially my son. I've always lived my life like a man's man. My wife informed me that this was a waste of our money, my time and that I neither had the talent nor skills to do well.

The instructors at school tell me the only difference is that I have a bit more wisdom than my younger counter parts. I love to color and cut but makeup and the transformations it can create really trip my trigger - now if I can just figure out how to do it. My career in cosmetology to date has been short but I haven't made anyone cry, no one has made me cry (lol) and no one has departed the school and returned with a shotgun looking for me so all in all it has been successful so far. I guess it is like landing a plane. Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

If you're in the Dallas TX area and have nothing to do in the evenings Wed thru Fri make an appointment(972 669-0494) with me (Frank) and have a enjoyable and relaxing time. You won't leave disappointed!
