Prep and Prime Lip?

Hello, lovelies! I've got a bit of a lip problem. I love wearing lipstick, but even though I moisturize them religiously, the color always seems to dry and then cake up in places. I haven't yet tried using a base and I've heard of people using both the Prep and Prime Lip or Paints underneath their lipstick. I'm obessed with Rocker and I want to wear it more, so I'm hoping to find something that will really make it last without going all weird and clumpy after a few hours.

Any and all tips will be muchly appreciated. I have a feeling that my lack of a lip brush is contributing to this effect, but I could be wrong.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!

- the lip brush thing is certainly an issue :). but don't feel guilty. With sheer lipsticks that are "greasier" , the lack of a brush might not matter too much. As for "amplified creme", "satin" and "matte" lipsticks, there the answer is: "the less you put on the longer it stays on and the les clumping you will have". A brush would solve your problem there.

- I have also tried paint pots as a base. And yes, it feels like your lipstick will last for ages. The only problem I have with it is that paint pots have a very dry texture and do dry out your lips. Maybe not for daily use , but definitely worth considering.

- I also used Estee Lauder's top coat on Mac Lipsticks and they do seal your lipstick very well with drying them out. It's zero color, zero stickiness and does work in a comfortable way. you probably find similar products in all kinds of brands

Prep & Prime Lip is awesome! It's NOT like a lipbalm since rather than making your lipcolor sheer (like a layer of lipbalm tends to do), it actually helps it adhere and keeps the pigment in your lip makeup vivid. Does not dry out the lips, and provides a smooth 'foundation' for your lipcolor. I love using mine in combination with the Creamstick Liners. Just make sure that you keep the cap tight on the Prep & Prime Lip tube though-- my first one shrunk down and dried out quickly if you leave it ajar. HTH!

Lining with a matching lipliner helps also to prevent the colour from bleeding or seeping.
