Prep + Prime Face Regular or SPF?

Is there a big difference between these two? I had a MAC MUA do my make-up the other day, and she gave me a sample, but I'm not sure which one it is. It's like a thickish white cream...

Help! I want to buy some, but I don't want to get the wrong stuff.

TIA!!

Re: Prep + Prime Face or Skin???

Mac Prep & Prime skin has a silky feeling that it leaves on your skin (very much like the Monistat Chafing gel). It feels kinda thick to me. I haven't tried the face one though, so I don't know how it compares.

Re: Prep + Prime Face or Skin???

Prep + Prime Skin is for priming makeup. It adds a slight luminescence to the skin as well as provides a smooth "canvas" for foundation, concealor, and powder. It also helps face makeup last alot longer. Is intended to be worn over moisturizer but before makeup. The product itself is a smooth white cream with a gentle shimmer to it.

Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 is just an SPF cream created to be worn under makeup. It does feel very smooth when worn, but it does NOT provide better application of makeup like the Prep + Prime Skin. All it does is protect from sun damage. I prefer to wear both. Apply after moisturizer, and before Prep + Prime Skin, and makeup. The consistency is a very thick, opaque white cream. Hope that helps!

So, more than likely, the MUA used the P+P Skin on me and that's what she probably gave me a sample of, right? Assuming, I know, but I don't know that she would actually remember if I called and asked.

My guess is that she used the P+P Skin... a product that I use every day and loooooove. You could try asking the MA who did your makeup (some MA's are partial to particular products). If not, do you have any of your sample left? You could always take it with you and compare the two to the sample you have...

Well, the only problem is that she's 90 miles away, and I don't know when I'll be back up that way again.

When the time comes, I'll just get the P+P Skin. I'm fairly sure that's what it is.

i think she tried the P+p skin on you, because it helped your make up stay put. You showed us your fotd after 10 hours of make up using it and your make up looked fresh. Hope this helps!

Re: Prep + Prime Face or Skin???

Most likely, it was Prep + Prime Skin. As I said, Prep + Prime Skin helps smooth out the skin, improve application of foundation, concealor, and powder, and it also improves makeup staying power. All Prep + Prime Face Protect does is block harmful sun rays. To improve application of makeup, smooth out skin, and help makeup stay longer, as well as have an SPF of 50, you would have to use both products together. So unless you asked for an SPF cream, I'm sure she gave you Prep + Prime Skin.
