Pro NYC Pigment wall? What is it?!

theres a wall of what look like pigments at the Pro Store in NYC... anyone know what that business is all about?

Actually, last i checked i think they are just painted jars for decoration purposes

Yep, that is exactly it. My sister and I hoped it was pigments, almost like a candy store (to scoop and buy).....but no.

Yep, they are painted. I will post some info about the pro store on the blog shortly.

One of the artists told me that some are paint, some are pigments. When you go up close you can tell that some just have a thin layer of paint on the inside to look like it's full, and then some are actually full of powder. It's pretty cool looking.

lol I have always wondered that because even in the closeups they look like colored powder, not necessarily pigments because they can be a lil chunkier. It sure does look pretty though.
