Problem with cream blushes..

My new cream blush from Bobbi Brown arrived today and I applied it like so to try to make it last (knowing the pitfalls of cream blushes):

- Foundation + concealer
- Three very light layers of the blush, because I heard layering makes it last.
- Set with translucent powder (the MUFE HD one).
- Add a light dusting of Dollymix powder blush to set even more
- Shimmer brick for highlight.

At the end of the day, at around 8 PM, only five hours later, I scrutinized myself in the same mirror, same lighting. There was HARDLY any blush.. it's like it just disappeared into thin air and evaporated through the pores left by the shimmer brick... The shimmer brick powder was still very much present on my face---rubbbing my face with a finger gave my fingers lots of shimmer. But NO BLUSH, which was applied under the shimmer brick! HOW DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN? I wasn't even producing that much oil today--no need at all to blot through the day.

Ladies, help!!

I like to put on mac bare canvas/stilife paint or soft ochre paint pot on my cheeks (i put it on after i put on my foundation). They i put on the cream blush and dust some invisible powder over it. That combo seems to make my blushes last a really long time

I seriously thought about using an eyeshadow base, too, but I'm a little afraid it might clog my pores... have you had any problems with this?

My NARS cream blush, penny lane, doesn't do that ever. I like that one best but Stila's CCs are pretty good and so are Inglot's.

I read this in another post here on Specktra so I can't take credit, but are you moisturizing your face enough? The one to mention it said that a face or body that isn't moisturized will suck in pigment from any product making it useless. HTH

Just so you know it isn't some magical thing that MAC cremeblushes do just to make life suck, I'm going to jump in and say that they last wonderfully on me. I wash and moisturize twice daily and exfoliate a couple of times per week, so my skin is in good shape.

Update on my problem with the Bobbi Brown one---layering a powder blush over it, very lightly, seemed to have helped it a lot, as well as switching to a heavier moisturizer for the winter.
