prolongwear- where have you been all my life!?

So I went shopping for a bold red, was thinking russian red and cherry liner with ventian lipglass for a lush look...
i am fair and i always end up looking like courtney love on a bender,serious bleeding and mess with red lipstick.
my bf irl recently showed me her new fave lipcolor-a prolongwear in a pink. i was scared it would be like the max factor or covergirl which feel like latex or something on my skin and yuk.
anyway, it felt surprisingly good so when i tested my reds, and to my dismay even with primer...it bled
i tried lasting lust plw and omg it rocks.
i do seriously recommend exfoliating your lips VERY well prior to application and using something like MAC cleanse off oil,(avon skin so soft works just as well

and if you need to reapply do so carefully or it will get chunky.

hope this helps anyone who has never been able to rock red and keep it on thier lips and off thier skin and teeth.
now i want to try some other dark shades, and some of the other glosscoat finishes!

I love pro longwear, it lasts very well for me, but if for some reason you do need to reapply it can get ball-y and tacky. But other than that I love it!

I wish i could find a colour out of them that i could actually wear - they all seem to dry up wierd looking to me, alot of them go lilacy hinted.
Any know of a warm rosy brown colour that would suit a NC42 - should look like a medium lip colour good for pigmented lips so it doesn't wash me out.

i wish they had cleanse off oil in pads like alcohol prep's, or wipes in simgle use packets!

i'm an nc42 as well...boss brown, luv-4-ever, night rose, and hot tomato are all favorites of mine, and all look relatively natural on me. i do agree some of the shades can be kind of difficult to work with, but play around with them a bit, or talk to an MA and tell her what you want. i love PLWs, though it took me awhile to find the proper shades for my skin tone.

to the person who mentioned avon skin so soft, what do you use it for? to moisturize? or to remove product from your lips? i remember i used to use it, i just don't really remember what the product was for. and i really need something to take off the PLW, i just hate cleanse off oil with a passion, lol...

Perhaps they work best on really clean, dry lips? I'm not saying your lips are dirty =) but they would be a bit different in texture if one has been wearing the pro longwear for some time.

I'm a little darker than a NC42, but I agree, Luv 4 Ever is nice. I also like Stuck on You alot. It is one of the few products I have run out of. It looks like a rosy brown on my lips, but not too dark.

wow; I've been thinking of trying "Lasting Lust," and I think I will now, especially since I can get free shipping until 6/10.
I already have a couple of Pro Longwears:
Overstated- Gorgeous shimmery mauve/eggplant
Purrpetuate- Deep wine/berry
Which others should I try?

I love immovable, although it does remind me of my 90's lip look a lot. but it is am awesome color nonetheless. I also really like unwilting. it has a real 60's retro feel and works very well with a springy face pallette.

as for the skin so soft, i use it to remove the prouct on a cotton pad. it is a dry oil. it is VERY heavily fragranced. we use it for lots of things around here, esp insect repellent b/c it contains citronella oil andis deet free.(we don't use deet)

Wow! I've been eyeing "Lasting Lust" for quite a while, and this really makes me want to go for it!
Other Pro Longwears I own and love:
Purrpetuate: Beautiful shimmery wine/reddish berry
Overstated: Gorgeous shimmery medium eggplant
Night Rose: A nice mauve/rose, my least favorite because I expected it to be deeper than it is.
