whoo. my high school prom is on may 30th.


i went prom dress shopping with YOOTOPiA who doubles as a member on here and one of my favorite cousins.

i ended up getting this BRIGHT canary yellow gown. LOVE it.

but since it's so so so bright, i'm at a loss of how my makeup should be.

i'm guessing i have options of extreme opposites.

either i'm going to go way neutral.
or way way bright.

I would go with smoky eyes, a soft blush and a really glossy peachy-pinky lip... maybe a dazzleglass, actually.

The dress is bright enough on its own that I think it would be much hotter with more neutral - but still very sexy - makeup.

If it were me, I would go bright...maybe like a blue or green on the eyes, soft on the blush, and a peachy pink (as above) on the lips-keep it light on the lips. Have a blast! Your dress is very pretty!

I completely agree with this. While you could go bright, I think it would detract from the prettiness of the dress.

I agree with the smokey eye fo' sho'. I've noticed that the Eversun Beauty Powder Blush looks INCREDIBLE on asian skin, so if you could get a hold of that, it would look fantastic with an all around nude look.

I'm doing makeup for someone that is wearing a dress that same color. I decided to do a Mariah Carey inspired look or a Kim Kardashian look using bronzey colors.. nothing too bright so as not to distract from the beautiful color of the dress. HTH

Maybe a neutral color on the lid with a thin line of bright liner on the top lid.

Thats what I was thinking, it would be pretty with a bright blue or green, if you are into those sort of colors which By Your bright choice of dress I would guess you are =) a very pretty dress by the way. Have fun
