Prom makeup for unknown eye and face shape

Hello I am newbie in these Specktra forums but I love everyone's gorgeous looks they post on here.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I am in a serious dilema and I need your help! Firstly I'm not really sure about my face shape and how to apply makeup to it. A lot of people call me oval but my cheeks look so chubby when I smile and when I contour under my cheekbones it looks weird.

Secondly my eyes make applying makeup quite difficult because I naturally have high eyebrows, when I'm looking straight ahead my eyes look quite 'sleepy' but I don't have hooded lids and I know for definite that they are wide set.

Basically I need help coming up with a prom look (preferably dramatic eyes and nude lips) which would suit my features and would go with a navy taffeta mermaid style gown. If it helps I'm an NC50 in MAC Studio sculpt foundation (I don't look it in these photos but I am quite yellow lol) Thank you!

The password to my album is specktra

Based on what I see and you've described, you're an oval heart.

Honestly you shouldn't have any issue with eyeshadow placement. You have visible lids and a definite crease area, it's just that you have a lot of space b/t the crease and the brow, so you have the option of pulling your crease color higher (which adds drama) or you could just do a transition color (color that blends between your highlight and your crease color). I have a similar issue - the high eyebrows, but unfortunately I have hooded lids :(

I would scour Youtube videos and see who has a similar face shape, then eye shape to myself and see what I could practice to see if it works on me.

Thank you for these videos and advice! What you have said makes a lot of sense and I am definitely going to do one of these looks for prom! I love the way you can't really notice the distance between the crease and eye due to how the makeup is done, thank you!

Here's how it's going so far (prom isn't until the 28th of June). After watching your vids and looking around I've figured out the cut crease look looks best on me (I will finish off my makeup with fake eyelashes too hehe) :) Sorry for all the pics and awful teenage skin! :L

My cut crease is now amazingly fierce! I bought the new Sleek ultra mattes dark eyeshadow palette and I made it so sharp and defined! Thank you so much for helping me out, if it wasn't for you and some other posters I would be totally stuck!
