Pulling in customers

So tomorrow I have my certification and absolutely no one I know can make it (damn for everyone having real 9-5 jobs/school)...so it looks like I'm going to have to grab some random person to be my model.

At MAC we never have to pull people in for makeovers so I'm clueless as to how to do this...that, coupled with the fact that I have severe social anxiety...I am absolutely terrified as to how this will go (I'm literally sick, shaking & about to cry right now over it).

So...does anyone have any pointers for me-like, I know to look for someone with good features & stuff, but how do I go about approaching them or whatever?

Unless of course, someone in NYC/LI area wants a free MAC makeover & can make it to the Queens Center mall at 11am tomorrow (1/11)...wow, that's too many 1s

Eeeek. I don't think they'll make you do that... just explain to your trainer that everyone you know has a daytime job... I know our manager has often washed her face and filled in in the last minute.

Well I know for the my first freelancer interview (which I bombed) they said if you couldn't bring in a model you would have to pull someone. I don't know how your store is, if it's in a mall or in a busy downtown area or anything. I had a model but one of the girls didn't and I actually helped her get one because we both got there super early.

Our interview was in downtown SF so there is ALWAYS tons of people and plenty of tourists too. It's not that hard when you tell someone it's for MAC. Just approach someone and tell them that you work for MAC and you need a model for a free make-over. You may get a really willing customer in the store or at your counter, that might be easier.

We used another counter manager (mine was the Chanel CM, who had amazing blue eyes)...I hope it went well!

You can just tell them what you're doing and ask them if they could help you out by being your model. No use in pretending that you're not there for a reason, ya know? Someone will be sympathetic and want to help you out!

Thanks for your input girlies! As it turns out, I convinced my friend to drive almost an hour and a half in to be my face & when speaking with my trainer afterwards, she said if worse came to worse, she would have had me do the demo on her.

PS...I passed! (Wasn't really concerned that I wouldn't, but there is always nerves)...and I guess I was really impressive-my trainer said my timing is really good & is already talking about pulling me in for Fashion Show Certification.

When I'm to this point, I'm going to use the same girl I used for my demo. I already told her.
