Purples and fake lashes- what a pain in the @$$

So for the first time today, I tried putting on some fake lashes. I took back the bad girl lashes as I couldn't justify something I probably wouldn't wear (I was pressured some to get them).

Anyhoo, I bought some NYC ones from Target and tried them out- what a pain in the arse!! If you have suggestions on getting them to stick without taking out my own lashes, let me know!

I lost some of my own lashes when I took them off

Fake lashes take some getting used to for sure.

Some the the things that helped me...

1. You want to be sure to put the glue onto the 'falsies' and allow the glue to dry a bit so it's tacky..this may take a few minutes.

2. When you apply them, DO NOT apply them to your lashes, but to your lash line. Get them as close as possible to your lashes, but make sure the glue is 'attatched' to the skin.

Those two things made falsies VERY easy for me!

Gorgeous look! I love NYC's lashes! The above suggestions are really good. I know a lot (maybe all of the lashes) are so called "self-adhesive," but that's not true. You still need to put lash glue on them. I always cut mine in half & put them on the outer lashes with some glue & just make sure you wait until the glue is tacky, about 20-30 seconds.

Awww your first attempt looks 300x better than mine.

I guess I have a tip: I a cheater, I use a lash placement tool (the one from sephora). Once I place it, I use a tooth pick to press it down and "perfect" it

I found out that glue also plays a huge roll. I use Ardell's Lash Grip in Dark...I used to struggle so much until I got a good glue. The other ones were too slippery, even after I waited for it to get tacky. Ardell just works wonders for me.

I hope that helped, but yeah your eye looks are awesome, I'm sure you'll get it girl, it takes practice...I'm still learning...haha after battling for like 3 years on and off.

i think you did an excellent job with the falsies! i used to think that applying them were a pain in the ass as well but for me, the above suggestions have helped, also i find that the red cherry brand is awesome!!! i dont know why but for some reason, i used to try the ardell and sephora ones but could never ever perfect it...even now! so i dont know if the red cherry is more pliable or what not but AWESOME. also, invest in the duo adhesive...i see you line your eyes mostly in black so i would get the dark tone one, when you first apply it to the strip, it'll be like gray in color but when its dry, itll be black so it blends nicely into your liner. also, i will wait 30 seconds then hold down one end with the index and the other end the thumb for thirty seconds. after that, i just double check that it's in place by using the end of one of my makeup brushes to press it down. oh ya, when using the adhesive, remember that less is more!!!!! hope that helps and awesome fotd as always! =]

Wow i loooooooove this color combination.

BTW...are those the "double cross lashes" or something? Because i saw some of those and I thought they kinda looked like the fishnet lashes. A cheaper alternative for those who didn't want to get the she's bad lashes

Great lash tip: A 5X mirror butted under your chin. By looking down into it, you have the perfect angle to see where to place the lashes.

You did a great job with the lashes--I can't believe it's you're first time!
The above tips are great. The only thing I have to add is that if you're afraid about taking off [more] of your natural lashes, hold some eye makeup remover on your eye to dissolve the glue a little.

Great look!

What she said! Also, as previously mentioned it's also about the right glue! That tacky white sh^& that comes with most eyelashes is so ick! I use Ardell's Lash Tite (clear) and usually pour a tiny bit in a strip onto a piece of paper or something and then dip my lash strip/individuals into it and place them. It might help you if you line your lid first and then place the lashes onto it to make sure you're applying them in the right spot. Also, perhaps try cutting the lashes in 1/2 and applying it that way if you're not too steady/they are applying unevenly.
