Well i finally got to go too Macys and purchase something from the sweetie Cake collection..i didnt think i would be buying much except for the glitter liners..but i fell in LOVE! lol i ended up buying the black & the darker blue glitter liners (i 4got the names) i was going to buy a few others but they were out. I also got Pink Muave and Sweetie Cake lipglass which i LOVE! but anyways the Mac employee kept pushing me too buy things...and i am a compulsive shopper...i dont think before i spend..it was bad enough i spent 70$ on everything i just mentioned. She kept pushing and telling me that she isnt getting anymore shipments of anything in that collection. & they only make 1 shipment and once they run out thats it...Now i was thinking about the quad but not soo sure also the light green glitter liner...and another pigment...but i couldnt afford all of that today...she kept telling me "Ohh well i only have 2 more of this and 1 more of that soo you better get it today" Is that true??? Do they only get one shipment?? And if the store runs out Cant i get it online...BEcause i remember with culturebloom they got a few shipments in...

i'm not sure about the shipment thing, but culturebloom was a much larger collection.

yeah, i'm not really sure about the one shipments thing, either.

but even if the MAC counter @ macy's sells out of the sweetie cake quads, you can always order it online or have someone CP one for you.

for LE collections, we have what we have till we sell out. so yes, we only get one shipment.

You should get everything while you can.The macy's counter in Hilo,HI sold out of all their glitter liners the first day of the launch!And to top it off they had a lot!

as far as i know they do only get in one shipment but yes you can order online... but i think one or two things are out online already!

I don't know...I'm of the school of thought to only buy what you can afford at the time. The counters only get one shipment of a limited collection, that's true, but I think freestanding stores can place more orders. I am not 100% sure if this, though. I guess it depends on the availability at the warehouse.

One of the SA's used that exact line on me for the Lingerie collection. I bluntly told her "I'll buy what I came for today, and if you run out of something... I'll just go elsewhere for what I want." I have absolutley no loyalty to pushy SA's. That being said, I also have 3 MAC counters and a Pro store in my mall which makes it easier to throw out statements like that. (Tyson's Corner 1 & 2)

Honestly, buy what you can afford. If they run out, they run out. You can try other counters, CPs, ebay, the Clearance Bin here on Specktra. Make-up is a wonderful thing, but its not the only thing. If you start living outside your means, it stops being fun.

Sounds like you had the right idea in buying what you could (and what you really liked) and leaving it at that.

There is absolutely no beauty product that you cannot live without. If an SA keeps pushing me and I have said "No" twice, I stop and just hold eye contact for a second or two, then turn and leave. And MAC, as we know, always has something new and wonderful in a couple of weeks.

On the Canadian site, out of a total 18 Sweetie Cake products, only 5 are still available. Everything else is sold out!

MAC's coming out with new products every month, so what if you can't get this particular item, something else will turn up!
If you buy everything that catches your eye not only will you go broke but you'll have so much stuff that you simply won't be able to use it all.

I cannot agree more, my friends. I know it is their job to upsell - but some of them are just so bad at it they come across as being pushy and insensitive.

It is an important skill in life one must learn: not being a puppet in a retail setting - you will get eaten alive. I really don't mind bragging that I have mastered the skill of letting the SAs know that I am fine on my own, but with a slight edge that they get the point that being pushy with me will get them no sales at all.

Don't worry! There are always more collections and as a last resort, Specktra's Clearance Bin, ebay and of course, MAC's goodbyes prog.
