Question about cleaning MAC palettes...

OK don't think I'm a weirdo but has anyone of you cleaned your palettes (the empty ones of course) in the dishwasher?

Because one of my pressed pigment e/s shattered a couple of days ago and on top of it it was a metal pigment!

It is so stubborn that I dont have the nerve to clean everything with a tiny qtip and cotton pads!

Or do you have any other easy-and-qucik-to-clean method for me?

I wouldn't risk putting a palette in the dishwasher, I wouldn't think the plastic would withstand the heat and would melt. I would try handwashing it with dish soap or maybe even Comet and a soft cloth.

Try some rubbing alcohol on a swab or cotton ball..

That should do the trick! I've done this to remove "regular" shadows, and it works fine, with no damage to the palette....

Hope it works for you!

I use a qtip with alcohol on it...or water even...and just go in between. The rest I wipe down with cotton balls or alcohol swabs.

OK I tried the rubbing alcohol method and some of the gold still sticks to the plastic but I think it should be fine! Gosh I hate Gold pigment!!!!!

WOW. Maybe I shouldn't use that anymore. Thats never happened so far, but I don't want to chance ruining my palettes.
I use the brush cleaner to clean my jewelry too. Just my diamond jewelry, I don't know if it would be safe for softer stones.

I use the MAC wipes, I take out the e/s and wash it down with a warm soapy cloth and then I use the wipe to take off the excess stubborn residue.

Hope it works for you!!!!

Well whatever you do, don't use nail polish remover-I was stupid enough to try that after getting this smudge on it I couldn't get off-you can guess what happened.

This happened to me too. I received a palette in a swap... and there was glue residue left in the slots, so each time I tried to move a shadow I literally had to pry it out. My guess is when the alcohol I used to clean the glue off mixed with the glue, it took the paint off. I've used alcohol on other parts of the palettes and it's been fine. Just mind the glue from depots.
