Question about MAC brushes & eyeshadows

I have been seeing a lot of auctions on Ebay that don't have a name on the eyeshadow just a number, same thing with blush. Does MAC do this or are these knock offs? Also do they put a number on every brush?

they're fakes, so don't bother with them. MAC has never used numbers for their eyeshadows, even in foreign countries. the brushes, obviously, are numbered (213, 217, 272, etc...) but i'd rather buy brushes from a MAC counter or have someone CP them to me rather than buying them off eBay. a lot of fake MAC goes around on there...

another thing that's popular with fake MAC eyeshadows are the built in mirror and shadow applicator that they put on the bottom. MAC has never been known to do this with their eyeshadow pots.

I second this. These are two dead give aways that the product is fake. Others are slightly hard to tell, though.

I don't really recommend buying any MAC from ebay unless it is something that is very hard to duplicate. I have bought a few MSFs off there and they were fine. Be very wary of sellers that don't allow you to access their feedback.

In terms of brushes, I strongly encourage you to buy them through MAC. There are loads of fake brushes on ebay and you don't know if they have been used. Furthermore and perhaps most important is that even if the brushes are real MAC products, you can't return it to the store for an exchange. Just like anything, MAC sometimes has defective brushes. They are so expensive that it really isn't worth the risk.

Last but not least, you will probably never find a MAC item on ebay for cheaper than you could have purchased it in the store.

HTH!
