Im going to take my driving test soon and was wondering about the parallel parking test. Does the instructor have you park between cars? WHen my bf took his test he didnt park between two cars his instructor only have him parallel park next to a curb. I dont know if they change the rules? or does it depend on the instructor?

I didn't have to parallel park, I just had to park next to a curb. It usually depends on where you live - my boyfriend lives in LA, so he had to drive on the freeway AND parallel park during his test, I did neither.

I believe if you DO parallel park, though, it's between cones, not cars.

Don't stress, it'll be fine!

I'm in NY and I had to park behind one car, but not between two. I think it totally depends where you are and what they rquire. You could probably call teh DMV and ask before your test and ask what is required to pass. Good luck

That's probably going to depend on the DOL and/or city you're in. When I took my driving test, I had to parallel park in between two cones on a curb which was at the DOL.

i'm sure this is situational depending upon where you take your test. every states' department of licensing/department of motor vehicles is entirely different, and it *may* even vary from county to county, not sure. i took the test at the DMV that supposedly had the "hardest" reputation in the area, i passed on the first try, and did NOT have to parallel park. i had to park normally between two cars in a parking lot, though. the irony is, i am a lot better ar parallel parking that normal parking. i have no idea how that's even possible, but i am, lol.
