Question about trying e/s at MAC

I'm fairly new to MAC so this is probably a dumb question, but...

When you go to a MAC store or counter, they obviously don't have all the eyeshadows out on display. If you want to try one that is NOT out on display, what do you do?

-Do you ask them if they can open the eyeshadow from the stock so you can try it out?

-Or do you just buy the eyeshadow and try it on at home? I don't want to do this in fear of not liking the eyeshadow and having to return it.

What do you guys do?

Most every shadow will be out on display, if it is not on the rack they are in beakers behind the rack... Just ask to see a tester of a certain color you want

If there is no tester they might make one for you but for some colors they wont if there aren't alot left, such as limited launches

but in general they will probably have a tester somewhere even if you dont see it

exactly. i think that this is especially true at counters. they usually don't have as large a selection as the stores do, so what they do have is out for testing.
