I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me about my face... i dont put my tanner on my face for obviouse reasons.. so is there anything like a face tanner? i figured my face would tan with the rest of me cause i am always getting rosy cheeks when i am out in the sun. so whatsup? lol
any advice is welcome!

I noticed this alot too when I was tanning frequently. Are you Bare faced when you go tanning? (No makeup at all???) Because alot of foundations have SPF in them and that could be whats going on. I'm too sure otherwise, Once I made sure my face was clear of any makeup my face got a lil more bronzed.

They also make tanner stuff specifically for your face, wont clog your pores up supposedly, maybe you should look into something like that..I had one at one time, but...cant 'member who made it.

BUT! its probably better that you dont subject your face to tanning beds. You know the whole schpeal*sp?* on it causing wrinkles and blah blah blah, so I wont reiterate it, but its something to think about. I mean, you can always use a bit of bronzer and call it a day

NOOO makeup in the tanning bed, not even moisturizer.
You can get the facial tanning lotion and that might help.

I was recommended facial moisturizer by the people who run the tanning place - apparently it makes the tan stay better?

Anyway, I find my face tans well, though I go in the beds that have a face tanner in them. If yours doesn't it may be something to consider?

hmm well.. are you facial lamps on?
i usually just put some lotion on my face, the same lotion that i use on my body.. i asked the people there about it and they said it doesnt hurt or really clog pores.. infact my skin got REALLY clear after the tanning beds and i put the lotion on my face.. and lets just say i have HORRIBLE skin..

but one set back is that for me.. my face got TOO tan and idk i wish i just did the facial lamps on like once every couple of times..

Just a question...

Why don't you use tanning lotion on your face?

I never gave it a second thought...I use Almost Famous by Australian Gold and I LOVE IT! I use it over my whole body, including my face...but I always take off all my face make up (not eyes) with the Sea Breeze stuff they have in the room first.

I do alternate between the beds and the stand up booths though. I am kinda a big girl and I don't like the pale "stripes" from where the lamps don't go completely around.

Reality vs THE WORLD

Tanning is evil------Watch for racing stripes down your sides and pale shoulders as well. Also, start going to the dermatologist regulary to keep watch for early melanoma(the killing skin cancer).

We smart women have to start standing up for our selves!!!!!! We are not Hawaiian Tropic models----------------and we don't have baby bumps just because we didn't have a BM today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If we don't stop it, the people making mega $$$$$$ off real women are going to cause a new generation of girls who hate themselves before they're even in kindergarten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wear makeup for ME----who are you wearing it for??????

We have reached a crisis. Do you hate other women enough to want to destroy them????? If not, open your mouths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop reading this tabloid trash. I dare you. It's way past time for real women to speak out.

Back to the original topic:
We're aware of the evils of tanning...but if you are going to tan and want your face to get 'kissed' you have to go to a GOOD bed with the facial lamps and you can avoid the shoulder and side stripes by going into one of the laydown wraparounds that have the really high bulb counts AND the shoulder tanners.

The tanning bed I use has aromatherapy

the skin on your face exfolates way faster then the skin on your body. (due to multiple daily washes/scrubs and your face is exposed to the elements like wind at all times)

So yes wearing a facial moisturizer (with no SPF while you are actually tanning) will help your face tan last a longer since well hydrated skin does not shead as fast.

In the mean time, use a bronzer powder to match your face to your body... or use a self tanner on your face till your evened out in color all over.

p.s. - I in no way shape or form advocate tanning beds, I just like to give skincare advice.

I tan at a really small place...I think they have 4 beds...that's 2 regular ones, 1 stand up and 1 with the face accelerators.

I tan dirt cheap...I have a friend that works there. I didn't know they made a laydown wraparound...I just go into the superdome. They are currently remodeling/expanding so I will have to bring up the wraparound to the owners!!! Thank you!!

I used to manage a very high end tanning salon. I gave this information to every client so that they could avoid the unmatched skin/body tan. Here's a couple things to make sure you are doing to ensure a good healthy even tan on your face.

1. wash skin and exfoliate. moisturize big time.
2. when tanning use a good quality tanning lotion. they are chuck full of all sorts of vitamins and minerals.. much like the face creams @ the makeup counters are. which is also why they are pretty expensive. they are well worth it though.

a very good tanning lotion for the face is this

3. moisturize again once you get out. you can use a moisturizing self tanner spray made just for the face. like this one:
http://www.swedishbeauty.com/bronzefaces.asp
or just a plain moisturizer

also if you can find a tanning studio that offers special beds with separate face tanners, you will def notice a difference in how your face tans.

hope this helps.

hahaha...I did this a couple times and was so afraid to sweat....hahaha

I really want to do this again (I sit in an office building all day...) so I have some color....I just get weary of the orange factor.

I tan and always use a facial lotion for tanning. Dry skin reflects the UV rays so if you don't have anything on your face, it will tan slower than the rest of your body.

I personally use Saving Face by Designer Skin & Sacred by Devoted Creations. I break out easily and neither one has ever caused me any issue.

I suggest anyone that considers indoor tanning research the pros and cons, there are pros. www.smarttan.com

I've used Cal Tan's Mystic Tan booth and another one, and I haven't found that I get that weird orange color.

Because it is such a drastic color change sometimes, I get shock from people, just because I'm so "dark".

I have to have NW25 for my non-mystic'd face and NC40 for mystic'd face!!!!
