Okaay well im interested in getting my first mac eyeliner but im not sure which one to get.
I want something that can be used both on the top and bottom lashlines and something that wont smudge.
Would fluidline be my best bet?or would a pencil be better?
Is fluidline safe for the waterline?and if you do recc. fluidline, which brush is best to apply it with?
thanks in advance!x

I really like the Fluidlines. They are not waterline safe, though...but between me and you I use 'em on my waterline all the time and nothing has happened. I like to use the 208 angled brush to apply Fluidlines, because it's small yet gives me a lot of control (doesn't flop over when you touch it to your skin).

I also really like the PowerPoint eyeliners. They're also not waterline safe, but they don't budge, but you can still give yourself a smoky look because you can smudge them just after you apply them, and they'll dry that way.

MUST go with the fluidlines!! They last forever and the gel formula makes them so easy to apply AND they NEVER smudge - even on the waterline. Like Amaranth, I use mine on the waterline too and haven't had any problems, but I ALWAYS use a clean brush to apply these liners. I have had the most success with the 209 brush. I tried the angle and had trouble maneuvering it for the waterline application and winging out the liner in the outer corners. This brush also keeps the product on the waterline and from getting in your eye because of the fine point.

I use Fluidlines sometimes, especially if I have a lot of time to do my makeup. But for every day, I really prefer a pencil eyeliner (I don't know, easier to work with, imo) and I use Smoulder eye kohl. I use it as a liner and on the waterline, and I like that after a little while, it softens up a little so it doesn't look like a harsh black line on the waterline all day.

But then, I've heard some people talk about how they can't stop the eye kohls from smudging, so I guess to each his/her own. Maybe go play with some of them at the store and see what you like the best?

Fluidlines aren't recommended for you waterline but definitely for lining your lash line! Try technakohl in graphblack.. it retractable (is that the right word?) and goes on smoothly. Also try smolder kohl! To keep them from smudging (because the kohls are easy to smudge cause thats what they're made for!) put some black eyeshadow over it =)

i'm a big fan of fluidlines, too.
i'm too much of a chicken to try applying it on the waterline..just on the upper lashline.

i love the eye kohls.
i own smolder eye kohl and teddy eye kohl.
i love smolder b/c it's the best intense black eyeliner EVAR!
and teddy eye kohl b/c it's a bronzy shimmery brown that compliments everyone's eyes. =)
