Recommendations for Beginners?

Hi! I'm Cheryl :] I havent bought anything from MAC yet, and i want to know what you recommend for a beginner!
I've been thinking of getting...
-melon pigment
-evening aura e/s
-pink grapefruit lipglass
-soft and slow lipglass

do you think these shades are ok for a beginner?
do you recommend anything?

melon is a beautiful color, and very versatile. Pink Grapefruit and Soft & Slow are two really nice l/gs.

I think the Vanilla Pigment would be a great addition to your list. Also, Syrup lipstick; nice neutral shade (well, depending on your lip color!).

And brushes? You didn't mention any but a good set of brushes (be it MAC or otherwise) helps tremendously.

The Sci-Fi Delity lipstick in the new Neo Sci-Fi collection is *awesome*; red, but not too red, dress it up, dress it down...very versatile. I'm having a hard time wearing anything else!

Thanks! I'm thinking of getting a brush set from the Colour Forms collection. If they sell it in Canada. :]
or if they get sold out or anything, i'll get the sephora stippling brush and some other brushes.
