A friend of mine has just started out modelling... she doesnt wear too much makeup (just the basics, eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss etc.) and she wants me to do her makeup for her next photoshoot (not sure when it is yet but she's gonna let me know)

She has long brown hair, hazel eyes but i dont really know what makeup to do for her... shes gonna be doing a headshot shoot and fashion
should i use false lashes? she said she doesnt really need foundation.. and i agree her skin is gorgeous but i want it to look much more perfect on camera so what about a tinted moisturiser or something? she wants more emphesis on her eyes as they are her best feature.. so im thinking of a soft smokey eye and nude lips?

heres a picture of her as this will be more helpful:

I don't know a ton about modeling, but I'd think especially for the headshot, you'd want to do something neutral that will not detract from her natural beauty. I'd imagine she'll need people to be drawn to her look, and not her makeup. I think the idea of a soft smokey eye and nude lips will work well. I'd also add that even though she appears to have good skin and says she doesn't need foundation, I'd still use some for a photo shoot. Even if I had amazing skin, I'd still wear some for pictures because I'd want to look as flawless as possible. Just my two cents!

i would do something natural, i think prrr lipglass would look a amazing on her and maybe something soft on the eyes like satin taupe

I used to model and for headshots you just want to accentuate the facial features. So a super soft smokey eye with purples sounds fine, maybe with a little eyeliner and a pink lip. I wouldn't do foundation. I would do a little strobe cream to bring a nice glow to the skin too.

This is more of a product rec then a look rec, but whateves. If you want her skin to look flawless on camera, buff some MSF Natural over her skin. If it looks powdery, spritz on a TEENY bit of Fix+. Also, NARS Multiple in Copacabana looks incredible on cheekbones in photos. Maybe a little too "done" for a head shot, but it's up to you. I used it on all of my friend's for a function we went to, and they all looked amazing in the pics.

You should speak with the photographer and collaborate with him/her to see what look is appropriate for the shoot. It's less about what she or you wants to do, but more about what the pictures are going to be used for. Some clients have a very specific idea about the kind of make-up they want the model to wear.

I totally agree with this. It is also worth bearing in mind that while your friend may not need foundation on a day to day basis, the camera really does pick up every flaw and imperfection. You need to create a flawless canvas for even the most natural look.

the camera picks up every little pore...so those that have perfect skin, still need a bit work and photoshop to even it out.

also will you be shooting outside? and if so, is the photographer going to use strobe lights? if he is going to just go for natural lighting, then skip the lashes. they will cause a shadow and do not show up much anyways. especially if you are shooting at the wrong time of day (noon-ish). also photography makeup is different from everyday makeup. you need to be really bright and dramatic for it to show up on camera. goodluck and have fun! post the photos when you get them!
