i was wondering if when you work as a MUA for MAC are you restricted so that you can only work for their company and not lets say free-lance for l'oreal cosmetics? what are your boundaries when it comes to representation?

You are restricted to MAC, although I do believe that freelancing for other EL brands is negotiable.

would that be the same situation if i am a free-lancer for MAC? I want to work for them but i don't want that to effect my mobility in terms of what i can do with other companies. would it work if i instead free-lance for other companies and work for MAC as a free-lancer as well? :S

thanks for the response by the way

From what I understand, you cannot freelance for "the competition" (meaning another cosmetics company) if you are employed by MAC (permanent or freelance). You can, however, take on your own gigs with no problems...like the previous poster mentioned, you can also freelance for other EL lines (Bobbi, etc)

i dunno about being hired at one and freelancing for another. i would ask MAC managers about that. i know that some counters won't hire people that work at other counters because they don't want to mess/deal with macy's since the other counters are macy's employees
