Retouching pics

Hi ladies!

I am trying to find.. and yes.. maybe I am asking a lot but... a free retouching software that I can download over the internet.. nothing illegal please!! lol but something that I can smooth my face just a bit. I am trying to make a portfolio and I just want to give my pics a clean finish with an even smooth face. My cam its not great and sometimes the lighting at my house is off so the face does not come out as I would want so.. if someone knows.. let me know here..

Someone I know has a program called Gimp (lol..) I think it's kind of like a less high tech version of Photoshop? Good enough for editing photos though I think! Sorry I can't give more info ;/

Gimp, or Gimpshop (same program, different look). I have it, it's free, it's awesome. It doesn't have quite as many features as Photoshop, but it has enough for you to play around with effects and have some fun.

3rd vote for Gimp. It's a great program. It has a lot of the same features as photoshop, especially with the plug-ins that are available to download from various places.
