rite i desperately want to re decorate my room its so awful i hate being in it xcept my parents wont do it, ive had my carpet since i was born so thts 18 years

and its in dreadful condition. rite now im attempting to move a bookcase out to make it a bit nicer and they wont let me

any suggestions on what to do??

Have you calmy approached your mom and asked her why making a few changes to your room is not an option?

Yeah I would definitely suggest that... I use to write proposal letters to my parents and leave them for her (my mom read them mostly) while I was asleep so she could read in the morning and think about it before she said anything. It was easiest to put down things in writing since I am usually too emotional and people tend to abuse that. Is it because that bookcase has meaning? It is because there is nowhere else for it? Ask if you can sell it to get rid of it? (craigslist.org) Make sure it's not a money concern.... I would say offer to save up and decorate your own room or borrow money and pay them back... but if you're 18... and you decide to move out and go to college... then don't waste your money... just save up some to decorate your new place exactly the way you want it.

i seriously doubt ill be moving out bt i have a year or so left at school so...
the bookcase has no meaning ive had it since i was about 9 and its pine and was expensive but its so old and big and takes up loads of room when all it has on is dvds and i can easily put them somewhere else. im thinking i cant move it cos there isnt anywhere else for it i sed it could go in the spare room as its only me that mainly goes in there to do my hair and my mom uses it to put washing in but they sed they dont want it to become a junk room. i dont think its the money its just the effort as my room is packed and its been wallpapered 3 years ago which isnt long but ive changed loads since then and its so babyish
