Hey guys. I bought "Rule" as one of my first MAC purchases. The color is lovely (an orange matte), but I'm just not sure how to wear it.

This is really the only color that I have bought from MAC that I'm not really sure on what to do with it. So, I'm looking for suggestions ... or I might just have to swap it out for another color. Thanks a bunches!

For reference, I'm a NW20, blue eyes, blonde hair.

i like it with other orange/corals like Electric Coral pigment, Orange Tangent e/s, Firespot e/s, Expensive Pink, etc and golds like Golden Lemon pigment or Goldmine e/s. those are all good colors for sunset-like eyes

i also like it mixed with Cool Pink pigment to create a softer matte orange color.

ooh totally agree with the above! don't swap away rule! it is such a great shadow in my humble opinion. what i do is pack on paradisco (could try expensive pink in its place) on my lid, then i use rule and blend it out on my crease/browbone, and hilight with some goldish kind of hilight like rice paper or rose blanc (LE from strange hybrid, heard nylon is close to it, too)
. or,
you could try dusting rule onto your lid and lightening it with motif or vex or something over it and then put something like a browny color . . . antiqued? mythology? in the crease for some definition.

hope this helps, seriously though please try it in the crease/browbone blended out!

If you want to do something quick but very pretty, just put Rule e/s on your lid and then use something shimmery on the just the middle of the lid and blend it a bit. It will look beautiful. I do this with my "Buttery" eye kohl. It was l/e but you can just use Jardin Aires pigment as well. Hope this helps.

There are a lot of things you can do with Rule e/s..you can create sunset/autumn eyes by combining it with Bronze, Texture, Coppering, Cranberry, Juiced, etc or even with gold and green eyeshadows. You can even combine it with other pink/rosy pigments like Revved Up, Pinked Mauve or Apricot Pink
