Is it just me, or is this a little over the top? I just wanted to get opinions from my ladies and gents here on Specktra.

Fashion Police: Flint Cracks Down on Sagging | Newsweek Culture | Newsweek.com

I read this article while I was on my break at work. I was like....wtf? I thought it was a joke at first, then realized I was reading Newsweek.

You're not alone. I think that's taking it too far. I HATE to see young men sag their pants because it looks dumb as hell, not to mention old, tired and played. This is not 1998. But, I wouldn't outlaw it.

I've never cared for the pants half off your ass look. That goes for men and women. Who wants to see a woman's crack or thong hanging out just because they have to wear the newest super duper low rise pants? And I hate seeing boxers hanging out of guys pants too.

I think this is unfair and waaaaay over the top...seriously, haven't they got anything better to be worrying about?

btw it's funny how it's called sagging over there - never heard that before, it's called a 'low batty' over here...tee hee

I think it looks ridiculous but I am not sure it should be outlawed. Do they consider it indescent exposure or something?

I'm definitely not a fan of the style but I don't think it should be illegal, especially not with a jail sentence of a year.

having seen boys wandering around in tight jeans pulled down so low that they are exposing their sad, sad tighty whiteys to the world, i wish they could be fined for that.

the saggy baggy pants aren't that much of an issue as the guy is usually also wearing a saggy baggy top that covers most of it.

it's the tight-jeans pulled down look that makes me feel ill... especially when said boy didn't pay close attention to choice of underwear. i don't like being confronted with an ass full of brief on the street.

the article won't load for me?

i don't know that it should be outlawed, but i do know that baggy pants are a very, very good way to conceal a weapon. of course, not everyone with sagging pants is armed, but i think that's probably the reason it's being outlawed.
