It's probably not something that M·A·C has any say over as it will depend on state tax regulations which change quite regularly. Here in the UK we have sales tax of 17.5% on almost everything and gas is about $7 a US Gallon so don't complain too loudly!

buying Mac in canada is more expensive than in the states. It's over the conversion rate and tax is 15%. So a 13.5 eye shadow for the us is 18 something for us

I saw a post on MUA last week that most states were going to make online companies start charging tax, even eBay!

Even Gloss.com is charging in many states now. I was charged tax last week for the first time ordering through them. It stinks that both sites are charging tax now. I figure ordering the MAC from Gloss.com and getting a rebate from Mr Rebates partially makes up for the tax. Also, some SAs may waive the tax and shipping on a phone order.

*&#$@!!!! My tax is dang near 10%, hence the online ordering. If I'm going to be charged anyway I might as well have the fun of going to see it in person...
