Salon Color with Long Lasting Reds

I love coloring my hair different shades of red. I've only ever used Redken color, and frankly, it fades like crazy. It's noticeable after just one wash (and this is with all of this color; shades eq, color gels, etc.) and I'm using a good shampoo and very cold water.
Now, I know red color fades the fastest, but it's ridiculous. Does anyone have a brand suggestions for better reds? Any help would be awesome.

I use henna.

Henna for Hair

There's some really good info in there. I did mine...Oh gosh, like, September? And it's still a good red, though I have a couple inches of roots.

When my mom and I did it, it was our first time, and we did it with just henna and lime juice (The kind in the big bottles, but the same brand as the little plastic limes). I think when I redo it soon, I'm gonna add some oil to it, so it's not so drying.

l'oreal majirel hands down. NOTHING beats l'oreal colours. my red stays incredibly well. granted its taken two times for it to stay, but otherwise the last time i coloured my hair (up until yday) was the beginning of december and minus regrowth its still as vibrant as it was the day i had it done. only for the first two washes i had pink shampoo foam too.

I use Feria and it fades rather quickly, but because I love the particular shade of red, I keep using it.

Mine is R37, crushed garnet. Love it!

I use joico.
I mix RC7 and N5 with the copper intensifier, to come out with a gorgeous coppery auburn. the dark blond colour washes out the fastest, so eventually it fades to a bright copper. i like both colours, so its ok!

What's weird is that Redken Shades EQ actually grabbed my hair. My red at the bottom is pretty vibrant. Compared to Matrix Socolor that kept washing out. Has anyone tried Logics haircolor?

if your using redken why dont you just refresh with shades? that way your not just adding so much permanent color onto your hair. Also there is this one shampoo i used to buy my mom in law, from biosilk that was for red hair it was an actual red in color shampoo that you leave in for like five to ten minutes in the shower to refresh your color, its been discontinued at our supply stores but I think sunglitz makes a similar one.

I generally do a permanent color on my roots and shades eq on the length. I also use the Wella color depositing shampoo and deep treatment every other time I wash my hair (I only wash twice a week, very cold water) and the color just washes right out. My shower looks like a crime scene when I wash my hair.

My hair just does not like Redken color. Even when I tried over colors by them (browns, blondes, etc) it just doesn't stick.

I had been wondering about the Joico color, so maybe I will give that a try for the next time. It's just soo frustrating to spend so much time on your hair only to have it look like you never did anything a week later.

what is your natural hair color level? if you were lighter, did you fill before you colored your hair? anyhow, my sis uses Joico color and she loves it, so hopefully a different line will work better for you, I used to hate the upkeep when I had red hair =/
