Sand studiolights

Hey,

I'm having problems applying Sand studiolights around my eye area. I don't really see what it does, i'm sure it is supposed to brighten up the eye area. I apply it on top of my concealer and blend it out (not a lot). So, do i have the wrong colour for my complexion (nc43) or am i applying it wrong??

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

thank you
xoxo

I can't help but I hear ya! I am NC15 and had the same experience with Ideal Pink. I felt like it didn't do a thing. Maybe we're both doing something wrong?

Yes it does need to be a little lighter than your skin tone to get the benefit. I'm NC50 and picked up skin lure. When the MA was trying them on me, we stayed away from anything that just disappeared into my skin. When she blended the skin lure it gave a nice subtle highlight/glow. HTH

Do they still have the testers? Could you try it on in the store and then purchase the right color from the website?

It sucks not to be able to test them, but they are still available for purchase on the Mac site. Maybe someone swatched them on here and you can try to compare that way, or buy two and sell the one that doesn't work on Spektra. Just thinking of suggestions. I wonder if a Pro store could pull them out of the back for you to try.

Sand might be light for you, that's the one I have and I'm an NW 25.

I put it on under my concealor kinda like a color corrector for my dark circles, so it makes the blueish tint I have under my eyes easy to cover and some of the highlight effect comes through and makes my undereyes look brighter.

how are you blending it? i think the trick is to liiiiightly pat it in instead of blending it like regular concealer.. thats how i use my touche eclat! when i blended it like how i blend my concealer it just disappeared and i didnt notice any difference but then i read somewhere here that you're supposed to just put a dab under your eye (or wherever you want to use it) and then use your index finger to very lightly pat it until its blended into your skin =) try it~!
