Really need something for contouring. I was about to get the sculpt & shape until the new collection came out. Which one do you ladies recommend?? Will the new view MSF be too shimmery??

The highlighter in New View is quite shimmery, but you can always blend to tone it down. The sculpt and shape pigments are really finely milled, and they're quite good. It really depends on if you prefer mineral makeup or regular pigments, and which looks better on your skin.

Im NC42, I have the sculpt and shape in lightsweep
/shadester and the MSF in medium dark. I love both of them but if you want something for contoring you should get the sculpt and shape the MSF you can use it for contoring but half of it is shimmery.

I agree with the sculpt and shape. I just bought it in Lightsweep (i'm NC40/42 or C4) and it's amazing. Looks very natural. I'm not sure you're gonna get the same results with the newview thing. the colors don't seem the same dark and light you know? -shrug-

I hated sculpt and shape. It just didn't show on my skin. I use blushes and bronzers to contour now.

But I did order the new view MSF!! Can't wait !!! :)

I'm pretty sure erine answered this. They are really 2 different animals.

Sculpt & Shape for contouring & highlighting

New View is too shimmery for contouring, however, you can use the shimmer side for highlighting but it will be more shimmery than the lighter side of the finely milled Sculpt & Shapes

While everyone mentioned this already, fur all intents and purposes when you want to contour, make sure that the darker color has a matte finish, you'll be wanting to create a shadow and any shimmer or satin finish will pretty much nullify it.

When highlighting, don't go for overboard shimmer or glitter, it'll create too much of a contrast.

i dont think an msf can be used for contouring unless its the natural one a shade darker than your skin tone. if u only want to contour just go for a mac blush like emote (depending on ur skintone)
or u can use any foundation /powder one to two shades darker than ur skintone if u already have one
if u must choose between these two i would say go for sculpt and shape

Sculpt & Shape is much better for contoring. I hate New View, and wish I didn't buy it since there are a lot better highlighters out there.

Although this is a great product, it should NOT be used to contour as my MA had told me. The reason why they only have a select of colors b/c it is made to be used all over the face. Sure there is a highlighting powder, but it does have a lot more shimmer, its purpose is to highlight cheeks but there is no contouring powder. They are much lighter so you won't get the results. But hey if it works for you then more power to you. =)
