select moisturecover as an eyeshadow base

the ma at the counter used studio finish concealer on my eyes as a base yesterday when she did my cult of cherry makeover. she told me that concealers are better than paints, paint pots, shadesticks, etc. because concealer gives you more time to "play" since it dries slower. i don't want to buy studio finish though...i was going to sell my select moisturecover, but i don't know now. can i use select moisturecover as a base, too? or is that not good?

I've never used it as an all over lid eyeshadow base, but sometimes ill use it as my highlight colour base when im using a dark paintpot like Nice Vice, and im too lazy to get a different base. The colour holds onto it really well.

Hope to help xc

Concealers would probably do just as good of a job in intensifying colours like any matte, skin-coloured Paint Pot or Paint would do, so long as there's something to "stick" to. I do apply concealer on my lids in order to neutralize the natural discoloration I have.

I don't think it makes a huge difference which one you use, the Studio Finish or the Moisturecover. I feel like the Studio Finish would be more creamy and "stickable" than the Moisturecover, and maybe the MC would dry faster? Both should be fine though.

However, concealers as a base crease like HELL. So, if you want to use concealers, I'd definitely use something that you know doesn't crease for you underneath. I like UDPP, personally.

Select Moisturecover might be a little too emollient. For a fluid concealer, I'm a big fan of MUFE's Lift Concealer. It's fluid but dries to a matte finish.

I have been using out my select moisturecover, and it is an AWESOME eyeshadow base. I would have to say it is even better than UDPP.

It covers up any redness while offering longevity of your eye shadows.
