Today (May 16th) E! News had a segment on "the natural look," and featured MAC Cosmetics Senior Makeup Artist John Stapleton.
He said, "The natural look these days is being sported by Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Lopez, and Jessica Alba--just beautiful. The trend in makeup has definitely been a little bit cleaner. You definitely want to use bronzer--just anywhere the sun would hit you: along the forehead and cheekbones, across the nose, along the chin (bronzer with a short-handled powder brush). You want to keep the lips neutral and nude, but a little color might be nice. Maybe like you just had a popsicle, a little stain (Moistly Lipgelee over See Thru Lip Colour in Rose de Sheer). Add a little depth to your eyes with a smoldery pencil (Smolder Eye Kohl), finish with mascara (Pro Lash?), and voila."
He spoke as he applied the products I put in parentheses above.
At the end of the segment, they showed the makeup table, and the reporter's voice over said, "Wow, it kinda takes a lot of makeup to get that au natural look, huh?"
Here's what I could identify on the table:
Moistly Lipgelee, Studio Moisture Fix, Studio Finish Concealer, a MSF in either New Vegas or Shimpagne, #187 brush, two other brushes, Bronzing Powder (maybe Golden), a customized 4-pan palette with what looked like Sable, Satin Taupe, Paradisco + one empty spot, a customized 6-pan blush palette with what looked like Pink Swoon, Variety, and 4 other bright/dark ones I couldn't place, Smolder eye kohl, Sundressing Body Bronzer, See Thru Cheek Colour Cheek, Elegant Peach Lipglass (I could tell by the chrome cap), and mascara.
I always get so excited when I see MAC on TV! I love my DVR because it lets me pause and see everything really clearly--lol.
