Shopping in New Orleans

Hey all!

I am headed to New Orleans for the first time on Wednesday. I have two days all to myself and since I can't possibly eat all that yummy food all day long, I'll have time to SHOP!

I would love to know if there are any places I absolutely must not pass up for clothes, makeup, perfume, accessories, etc. I'm staying in the French Quarter.

Thanks!

The French Quarter is mostly food, trinkets, tshirts, and restuarants. And of course alchohol, lol. To tell you the truth the Riverwalk is the best place to shop. Its not far from the French Quarter, but its beautiful and with plenty of shops and a view of the Mississippi River. I thought about going to Nawlins this weekend. Its only an hour away from where I live.

I have been there a couple times, I know there is a mall near the river that includes a Saks and some other stores. But idk what it is about that mall, it's always sooo quiet! Like a ghost town even though it has decent stores. There's an Urban Outfitters down there in the french quarter, and a few other similar trendy but good quality stores on the same street. I don't know of anything unique to NOLA, unfortunately. But have fun! It's truly an amazing city. The French Quarter is so beautiful, they have awesome artists down there w/ their artwork for purchase, and plenty of street performers. And if you can make it to the Garden District, I highly recommend it-- you will fall in love with NOLA
