Should I dye my hair or should I wait?

Hi!
I really don't know if I should dye my hair soon or wait until the holidays to dye it. I have jet black hair and I was thinking about bleaching it & then dye it a light brown/blonde color kinda like Beyonce.

I am tired of my hair, I used to dye it every 2-3 months and it's been a year and half that I have black hair, I like the color but I want some change. I have long voluminous layered hair with a side bang and I don't know what to change!

I want to keep my bangs to hide my forehead because I tend to always lift my eye brows without noticing and it gives ''wrinkles'' haha and it looks weird.. I was thinkign about cutting my bangs shorter, you know those ones that hide the whole forehead instead of being on the side only? But I don't know if it would make a big difference.

I wanted to wait till the holidays before I dye it so when school starts again there would be a change and it will give my jet black hair some time to fade and also, I wanted to wait till I get a job first before I dye my hair. Because I know bleaching jet black hair is really damaging and it is pretty expensive and I also wear extensions so I would have to buy new ones. I'm also scared that if I rush to dye it, the color will come out ugly and I will regret it and then dye it black again... And then I would want to try and bleach it again during the holidays and it would be really damaging!

I don't know what to do! I am so tired of my hair that I tie it into a ponytail everyday and when I leave it down I feel ugly..

Sorry for the long post

I can totally relate to being sick of your hair and not knowing what to do with it!! I think sometimes I change my hair so much because it is one of the few things I can COMPLETELY control. my only suggestion is to get someone you trust to do it, getting the black out of hair can be a process and I would hate to see you spend your first paycheck on extensions!!! =)

Yes, if you're going to try to get black out, don't try doing it by yourself. It's really going to damage your hair to get it all out and bleach it to boot, so you might want to consider going to a salon or having someone you know who is a hairdresser do it. You also might want to consider giving it a few days or a week before redying it after getting all the black out, because the more processing you do at once, the bigger risk of it all breaking off or falling out.

If you are feeling 'ugly', its definitely time to do something.

Jet black to lighter might not have the desired results first time around so I would start now so your hair looks healthy and nice, like you want it, for the holidays.

What about going for all-over highlights? That way you can obtain a lighter look with the least damage and most likely it will look way more natural and flattering then an allover dye on black hair(the roots will be a huge pain if you dye ur whole head, so be prepared for that). Go for sandy beige blonde and dark caramel blonde streaks. If your sick of the black go for a dark brown and then highlights.

Thanks everyone for the answers! I was thinking about getting highlights but I don't think I can since I wear clip-in extensions :S

dont do that process yourself , trust me! i have dyed black hair and tried to strip it, ended up with ridiculous hot roots and had to dye it black again. if you do this go to a salon, its worth the money. i wish i did that now i gotta wait at least another 2 months before i can touch mine.
