Skin Dilemma!

I have a very oily t-zone and it is very hard to control. I went to origins and got Origins Checks and Balances face wash, and Origins Have a nice day Moisture lotion. I don't get oily when I use these them but I began to get dry patches along my cheek after using them (I never get patches). The patches show threw my makeup and are very flakey (gross). I have been using it for about 10 days.
Should I try to exfoliate?

Yes, exfoliate... But use a gently exfoliating scrub. There are a lot of scrubs (like St. Ives apricot scrub) that are really harsh for the face.

I also reccomend a toner. I love my 100% witch hazel... It was really cheap, but keeps my skin fresh, soft, and not oily.
