Smelly MAC brushes

I just bought a bunch of full sized MAC brushes from the counter and my god do they smell. I first thought it was the glue so I washed them and it still smells. Turns out it's the smell of the handle. It smells like wood mixed with plastic, it's so disgusting. Makes me want to puke. How can I get the smell to go away or do you guys just live with it? If that's the case then I'll have to return these because I can't stand to live with the smell.

I've never had a problem with my MAC brushes smelling. The only one that smelled a little funny was the 187SE I got in the Novel Twist set... but it was the smell of the fibers &when I washed it, the smell went away.

SMELL GRADUALLY CREEPS AWAY. BUT I LIKE IT

Really? My friend used to describe people with bad breath as having white out breath.

I can't say anything though, I like the smell of shoe polish.

I'm sure you could return them and tell MAC about the handles.

my 180 smelt like a dead badger, I had to swap it away - but none of my other brushes had a smell (that I noticed - and I have a sensitive nose)
