So desperate! Please rec' a red l/s from MAC that looks like this (pic inside)

OK, this is a weird suggestion, but try filling-in with a berry liner like Burgandy or maybe Quartz, then topping with Chili.

or Strength - then blot it so that it stains your lips that shade. that looks more like a stain than a lipstick in the photo.

it does look like a stain. Lady Bug over Burgundy l/l looks sort of similar on me, and i've never used Chili, so try that.

Lady Bug and Chili are both red-oranges. They will probably have similar effects.

Thanks guys! Does MAC have any lip stains? I'm a makeup noob and the only stain I know is Benefit's 'Benetint' (I realize it's a blush but it's supposed to be apply-able to lips too)

Nope. MAC doesn't have any lip stains, but you can emulate the look by using a Matte liptick, blotting it off pretty much off, then putting on a balm or a lip conditioner.

I think that Lady bug will do the job (it'll look more stain-like than chili, which is more opaque) - You can line with Redd lipliner (orangey-red), then apply Lady bug, blot, than apply another layer

NARS, Stila, Vincent Longo... there's lots of lip stains out there.

Longo has a lip and cheek stain combo in two warm orange-reds like that: Liquid Kiss and Cupid's Breath are the names of the colours.
