Okay, so I know a lot of individuals on Specktra are pretty logical people so I'd like to talk about it here.

There's this youtube makeup guru that makes the typical makeup youtube videos. She had a contest giving out some stuff and I entered myself. It's my first youtube contest.

She said she was going to announce the winner 2 weeks after the end of the contest or something, but a month passes by and nothing.

So, some people start getting very angry over no update and no announcement of winners. VERY angry. Here are some comments:

She mentioned being sick sometime ago when someone asked her about the contest, but said that it would only cause a delay of a few days.

Honestly, I'm just disgusted by how nasty people are. These people drew their own conclusions without having all the facts and totally turned against her. They pretty much concluded that because she was able to sign in and have the time to write ONE comment to another video, that she must be healthy enough and have enough time to announce the winners.

I mean seriously, wishing a DISEASE upon someone because they didn't give you any makeup as they promised? When is that ever acceptable? They've also made comments making fun of her accent.

It's so savage. This is the type of ugly behavior that I associate with the people who trample, shoot, and stab others over Black Friday sales in order to save a couple bucks.

I personally would give her the benefit of the doubt that she did have a valid reason to take longer than she had planned. Honestly though, if I were in her position and saw how quickly people turned on me, I would leave Youtube as well. It's not worth the trouble. What's the benefit of giving away your stuff to people who hate you? It's sad that these are the people who smile and claim that they support her and just like that, they're against her. All the time she's spent on tutorials wasn't worth anything to anyone.

By the way, the people that talked trash about her are people who entered her contest. (She has close to 100 entries to view). They decided to criticize under separate accounts because they wanted to "voice their opinions" anonymously without being afraid of being disqualified. I find that quiet cowardly. If you're going to criticize someone, at least have the balls to do it under your primary identity. If you had real dignity, you'd just disqualify yourself in order to voice your opinions but I guess the promise of free makeup is still too yummy. It's just so two faced to me to criticize someone secretly and then turn around, spread your hands wide open smiling when they give you something.

I entered the contest and I'm pretty much convinced that she won't be giving out the prizes. I have no ill feelings towards that. It was a fun video to make and I could care less if I get anything in return or not. I actually sent her a message. I apologized for the nasty comments she was getting and that honestly, if it were me, I'd apologize to those that sincerely supported me and took the time to enter the contest, but unfortunately, a number of people had to ruin it.

On top of all that, she started to get a ton of sexist and racist remarks on her most recent video. YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
It's such a huge coincidence that all these started emerging during the whole contest fiasco...

To the OP and the maker of the video, I feel for you and the heartache you must be going through. There is no need for this kind of cruel racism. I wouldn't blame her if she did call off the contest. But I have seen she has a following. So why should she have to give that up because a bunch of racist loser

can get satisfaction of seeing her account gone!

There are many different types of people in the world, many heinous things have been done throughout time to try and get their way. We are a mixing pot and something needs to be done to stop this kind of hate on YouTube. There is no need for this kind of interaction. If you don't like someone then change the video... waste your time trying to drag someone else down

I can understand someone being rude or put off if you maybe put your video under the wrong labeling to get more hits, the people tend to get upset because they were looking for something completely different... but these people are just trolling to spread hate.

I dont understand how people can't grasp the concept that youtube videos are not the guru's JOB. It makes me livid. Seriously, thats what makes me not wanna post videos sometimes because people are so demanding. Even when it comes to requests, if you dont comment them back, or you dont make enough videos to suit their needs. This is a blatant example of this problem. It sucks, dont get me wrong, for the anxious people waiting to see if they won or not but even if she has no justifiable reason, she doesnt need one! She has a life too! And probably a real job. It just makes me sick.

That's bad. That's why I don't enter it anymore after some folks accused me of cheating and then other drama ensued that it just wasn't worth it. It always happens in most contest I've seen going on in youtube - drama!

The cattyness on youtube really put me off that I don't watch it as often as I use to or post any more videos up.

Reminded me of Juderivera (?) and how people almost freakin' died if she didn't post a video the day, no SECOND, she promised she was going too like it was her job or something?

Thats why I always hesitate to post anything.

It makes me mad to see stupid comments like that too. Once I commented on a video that Britney Spears couldn't dance like she used to. Within minutes I had so much badly spelled, ungrammatical hate mail it was ridiculous.

Actually most comments on Youtube I really hate. Stuff on makeup tutorials like "how much is such and such?" or "where do I buy this thing?" are idiotic, since you can easily find out that information on a different website.

Especially for something like this contest you're talking about, where nobody lost anything by entering, it is really rude to be so hateful. It's like I want to call their parents and tell them how mean their kid was. No matter how old you are you don't want your mom to know you were wishing a disease on someone.

I have never seen it this bad - not in a MU related video. The video which contains the racist comments has 27,000+ views - none of her other videos even come close to that number.

My guess is that somehow this video got out to Youtube's 'Most Viewed' lists or something and that's when the hate comments started coming in by people outside the MU fan community. It really is unfortunate and heartbreaking

That's just sad and pathetic. Wow, all over some free makeup. People are so sad if they actually get so bent out of shape over something so insignificant.

I do think it's really important to honor contests if you make a contest video and set a deadline and people do video responses though. So unless I was like dying in hospital, I'd make sure to announce the winner in a timely fashion.

I think people have a right to be upset about it to a certain extent, however their comments are in no way called for. Tragic!

There's a lot of really rude people on Youtube, but they're just the few bad apples in the bunch, at least that's been my experience.

Wow I can't believe some of the hateful and racist comments she's gotten on there. It's just disgusting. Has she made any new posts or videos since then? I would really hate for her to quit making videos if that's something she really enjoys doing because of some ignorant and greedy people. But I wouldn't blame her though if she has. I also wouldn't blame her for not announcing the winner and sending out prizes after all those nasty comments from people who probably entered her contest but under a different account name.
