I'm failing spanish class. Our teacher is an absolute BOOB. I'm homeschooled, so I take classes online, and our teacher thinks that we can learn the WHOLE Spanish language in a matter of months by taking one class a week for an hour. And its not like I'm disrespecting it, I just don't see how one can learn a whole new language in the amount of time expected. Our teacher doesn't realize we have a bunch of other classes we need to study for, he thinks we can memorize it all. I HAVE A LIFE THANK YOU VERY MUCH. My moms side of the family is Spanish speaking, so I thought maybe I could further my language skills, but its not happening this semester.

okay sorry about that...I REALLY needed to vent.

that sucks. i think with languages you either get someone really good or really bad. my french teacher was a total crap teacher when i had him 2 years ago. he didn't force us to learn anything or give us hwk so we didn't learn! now i'm really struggling. i don't know any tenses or anything. it's really annoying cos now i have a good teacher and france is my second home but i can't master the language. hang in there! looked for another teacher? ((huggs)))

I definitely know how you feel. Last semester I took a 100 level Italian course; what a bomb that was. The teacher and TA spoke Italian all the time, hello I am a beginner as in no knowledge. It was so unorganized; we were learning colours at the same time as learning past participle and conjugation shit like that. We never really built up a vocabulary to form sentences, all I know are household items, the weather and shit like that.

I pick up languages really easily... but my spanish 2 teacher definatly talks about football for the WHOLE entire class every single day, and he still expects everyone to know what they're doing. Last year our class got to page 53 (this was at the end of the year) while the other class was on 170ish... He wonders why the whole class is failing and they'res only 2 A's....

Yeah I hated spanish but luckily my teachers were very nice and sweet so I have B's in that class, I only took spanish 1 and 2 but I dont know about 3 lol. I probably end up taking sign language a lot of ppl say thats a fun and easy 2nd language to learn.

hahah. You mean 'gringo'? That's usually slang for a white/american person.

I love Spanish, it is my life and I'm getting my degree in it. Maybe you can get one of those computer-taught language programs on CDROM. Otherwise, I suppose you're kind of stuck. Doesnt come as easily to all people. Good luck!
